FASTags have been made compulsory by the Ministry of Road Transportation and Highways (MoRTH) and all motor vehicles have to be annexed with it. The toll charges get automatically deducted from the account linked with the FASTag and you need not carry cash every time while passing through the toll plazas. In case you want to purchase a FASTag, you can apply for it online. Out of 23 banks currently offering the FASTag service, Bank of Baroda is the leading provider of it.
You can commute hassle-free on highways by using the BOB FASTag and save on both time and money. There’s a certain percentage of cashback provided to the FASTag users after every transaction. Also, regular updates are sent to the customer through SMS on their registered mobile number. For obtaining a BOB FASTag, you can either apply through online or offline mode. For offline mode, you have to visit the POS located at the toll plazas or the nearest bank branches. To apply for Bank of Baroda FASTag online, you need to submit an application and relevant documents through the bank’s official web portal. In case you prefer an online mode of application, then visit the official site of BOB.
Once you have opened the link, click on Register and choose Online Application Form. Next, enter your details including contact and address details. Proceed further by adding other information such as vehicle details and GST details. Lastly, you need to scan and upload the relevant documents before making an online payment. Once the application is submitted, the FASTag is delivered at the customer’s registered address within six to seven working days.

For activating a FASTag, you need to maintain a minimum balance in your account. The minimum balance that you should maintain to make use of FASTag is Rs 100. If you have already purchased a BOB FASTag for your vehicle, you can also recharge it online. Multiple payment methods are available including debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, etc. To complete the recharge, open the official recharge portal of the bank, Next, log in to the portal using your username and password and enter the verification code. Once logged in, press on the Recharge tab. Proceed further and enter the recharge amount. Submit the payment and check your balance to ensure successful recharge. Since FASTags have been made mandatory, you will have to pay heavy penalties in case you will not affix your vehicle with it. To say it all, not using a FASTag is a rule violation similar to other violations done on the public roads for which challans are issued. Those who have made traffic violations and have challans issued against their name must submit the fines. The government has offered an online facility for the submission of challans.
